Ongoing Events

Christian Education...classes are available for all youth at 9:45-10:30 on Sunday mornings. Middle School, grades 6-8, Senior High, grades 9-12, meet separately. Youth Ministries at Hope is committed to providing an assortment of learning opportunities in which youth may grow in their faith and in their understanding of Christianity. Current events and topics of interest to youth are blended with study of the Bible.

Confirmation Class...prepares eighth graders and above, to enter into full membership in the United Methodist Church.  Running from September through February, the program combines  Sunday morning classes, weekend retreats and service projects.  A team of adults and older youth lead the classes and other activities.  Parents of youth also play a part in the confirmation process by serving as volunteers and small group leaders.

Youth Leadership Team...(YLT) is the planning and governing group for Hope Youth Ministries.  Members of YLT are youth from all grades who work together to do ministry at Hope and lead youth activities during the year.

Youth Fellowship...is designed for fun, fellowship and spiritual growth on Sundays from 5:30pm-7:30 pm, beginning with supper together, followed by a time of singing and worship.  The middle school and senior high groups meet separately for their own programs, games and/or fellowship activities.  The youth also meet at other times for special outings or programs.

Youth Ministry Music...Bells of Hope, the youth bell choir, rehearses on Sunday afternoons.  Youth of all abilities and ages are invited to join in the music.  All youth are welcome and encouraged to participate.  Both groups perform during worship several times throughout the year.

Mission and Service...youth are involved in a variety of service and mission projects throughout the year.  Locally, the youth visit social service agencies, shelters and other places where they can live out Christ's call to service.  In addition, the senior high youth are invited to participate in a week long summer mission trip.  Mid high youth have the opportunity to attend a shorter, three to four day, mission trip.

Weekend Retreats...youth take part in a variety of retreats throughout the year, including a fall retreat, confirmation retreats, and conference-wide retreats for middle school and high school youth.
