Hope United Methodist Church was born out of the need for a United Methodist congregation to serve the communities surrounding the Denver Tech Center. Begun in 1974 as a small fellowship of believers gathering for worship on Sunday mornings in Belleview Elementary School, this spark of a congregation grew into a flame as more families and individuals discovered its life-giving vitality.
In 1978, ground was broken on the southwest corner of Belleview and Dayton for construction of a new facility to meet the needs of the rapidly growing congregation. By 1982 Hope Church had grown too large for the three year old facility, so new construction was undertaken to expand. With another expansion in 1992, Hope added new classrooms and Friendship Hall. In 1999, Hope completed its most recent expansion with additional classrooms, office space and a new kitchen.
Hope’s active members and constituents number over 1,600, representing a broad range of ages, vocations and walks of life.
