This summer we have so many exciting events at Hope, we look forward to having you join us.  Please take a moment to look over all the opportunities so that the whole family can come out and play with us this summer!

Summer Walk-In Choir     

If you like to sing, Summer Choir is for you.  Starting June 1st, chancel choir shifts into Summer mode which means we all get a chance to participate.  Summer Walk- In Choir rehearses a new song each week just before the worship service.  It will alternate between the 8:30 service and the 10:45 service throughout the summer, so even you late risers get a chance to share your musical abilities.  This is a really fun way to get involved with the music programs at Hope UMC and worship!  Please join us once or ten times this summer!  If you have any questions contact Robert Larson at 303-779-1040, ext. 15 or rjlarson@hope-umc.org.

Youth Volleyball  

Tuesday Nights this summer we will be celebrating the long summer evening by playing Volleyball on the lawns of United Methodist Churches around the district.  Youth please join us starting on June 10th.  We will meet at the church at 6pm and then head to the church that is hosting for the night!  Adults who have an interest in getting outside and playing some free-for-all and fun-for-all volleyball please contact Debra Juarez to join us for an evening of play!  Debra can be reached at 303-779-1040, ext. 18 or dl_juarez@msn.com.     

Father’s Day Celebration

Come and Celebrate our Father’s on June 15th!  We welcome all families to come and honor the wonderful role that Father’s play in our lives.  It is a day to not only honor your father, but all men who have acted as a father figure in your life—whether as Step-fathers, Uncles, Grandfathers, or “Big Brother’s.”  June 15th’s services will be specially tailored to thank the many men who play these important roles in our lives!

Vacation Bible School—Beach Party

Preschool—5th Grade students are invited to join us for a special week of fun on the Beach!  Well maybe not quite the beach, but a week filled with Bible learning, special singing, crafts, and more.  Please watch this site for more information about registration.  VBS will be held the week of June 23-27 from 9am to Noon.  Please contact Cathy Smith with questions 303-779-1040, ext. 20. 

Youth Mission Trips 

As a community we are excited to have such wonderful youth who take time out of their summer to go and work for others.  The week of June 21st– June 27th we will celebrate the work of our High School Mission team as the travel to Montana.  Contact Debra Juarez (303-779-1040, ext. 18 or dl_juarez@msn.com) before May 11th, 2008 if you would like to go on the Mission Trip.  As a congregation throughout this June week we will be praying for their safe travels, inspirational work, and exciting opportunities.  The Middle School Youth will be going and serving in Alamosa, Colorado along side youth from Saint Andrew UMC, July 27– 31.  Please help us support the Youth of our church by offering up prayers for these teenagers and their adult volunteers. 

Abrakadoodle Art Week 

Hope is excited to be supporting our budding artists this summer by hosting an Art Camp.  Please join us for Abrakadoodle Art Week, July 14-17.  This will be a chance to explore animals and Africa through art work.  From 9:30am-12pm there will be a preschool camp, followed by a Elementary Camp from 1-3:30pm.  Space is limited so make sure you sign up soon.  Follow this link, http://www.abrakadoodle.com to find the registration forms and more information about the Art Week hosted by Hope UMC.

Connecting Point

Come and connect with us for a summer evening.  July 16th is time for a movie night!  The Church and Society committee is excited to invite you to join us to watch Amazing Grace.  A wonderful movie that tells the story of William Wilberforce and his life changing experiences.  We will have dinner on the lawn followed by the movie in Fellowship Hall.  Bring the whole family, there will be some fun outside games for the kids during the movie, and child care will also be available.  Please call the church office to let us know that you are coming, 303-779-1040. 

Music Camp

Come sing with me!  Children 1st– 5th grade are invited to come join Maestro Bob and Ms. Cheryl for a week of singing and having fun! 9am-Noon, July 28th—August 1st, is your chance to be a Hope Star!  This is a great chance to be with friends, learn about music, sing and listen to music, and perform.   Cheryl Sabosorsky will continue to teach about the organ and its many styles.  The children will learn about composers, history, and every child will get to play the organ!  WE will even take pictures of them trying out the pedals.  IF time allows there will be other supriseds.  Cheryl is very interested in working with children who have taken piano lessons.  The children from the music camp will celebrate their week together by providing special music in our worship service on Sunday, August 3rd.  Please call Robert Larson at 303-779-1040, ext. 15 or rjlarson@hope-umc.org if you have any questions.

Movie Night

Our children’s and family ministries are happy to host a Summer Evening Movie.  Come join us Friday, August 1, 2008 for a movie, popcorn, friends and family.  We will watch some thing family friendly and welcome in August with an evening of entertainment!  Join us at 6pm!

Buck-a-Burger, Buck –a– Bun, Mission Possible

We invite everyone one to join us for $2 hamburgers and bratz and a wonderful program.  August 6th, 2008 come and join us to share a meal with your friends and family at Hope.  Take time to hear about the amazing work  done by our missions teams this summer.  We here from both of our youth mission teams and the members from Hope UMC who attended the Conference trip to Kenya.
